Basketball star Kobe Paras and the woman believed to be his “mystery girl,” Rhaila Tomakin, are reportedly just good friends, according to Rhaila herself.
This was her candid admission in a recent TikTok post shared by the record label O/C Records.
Rhaila has been identified by many netizens as the woman seen holding hands with Kobe during their vacation in Bali, Indonesia, which sparked widespread rumors.
In interviews with several reporters, Rhaila was straightforwardly asked about her true relationship with Kobe.
“Kobe is such a great guy and a very good friend, but that’s about it.”
When pressed if they are indeed just friends, she confirmed,
“Yeah, we’re friends.”
Addressing allegations from some fans accusing her of being the “third party” in Kobe’s split with Kyline Alcantara, Rhaila said,
“Gets ko naman ‘yung mga tao, like, how easily it can be misunderstood. And I don’t want to invalidate anyone’s feelings kasi as Filipinos, we have that three month rule kind of thing,” she explained.
She further clarified,
“It’s 2025 now guys and we have same day delivery now and it’s not international shipping anymore…But for me personally, I wasn’t really trying to insert my feelings or hurt anyone’s feelings.”
“It was just a matter of the same place, same time, we have this simple moment and I don’t read too much into it,” she added.

In a separate post, Rhaila admitted she doesn’t personally know Kyline:
“Because I grew up in Dubai and I don’t really watch –laki akong Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network.”
Nonetheless, she sent a message to Kyline:
“I wish her all the best, I wish her more projects, more love, more happiness.”
She also added,
“Grabe, people are so critical with women, so I wish her all the best because at the end of the day, we have our own blessings. Like, I wish her blessings in the world and I have my own.”
