Nora Aunor's original home: A glimpse into the journey of the late superstar

Superstar Nora Aunor has always been known for her talent and legacy in the Philippine entertainment industry. Throughout her life, she has moved several times, experiencing both the highs and lows that come with fame. But one thing has remained constant: her devotion to her family, her fans, and her work. Her home, a true reflection of her life, is a treasure trove of memories, trophies, and sentimental items that celebrate her remarkable career.

The house, which is now the residence of the "Superstar" as she’s affectionately called by her fans, serves as a sanctuary for Aunor’s ever-growing collection of trophies and memorabilia. The house has been a safe haven for her, especially after her multiple moves in the past. During a home visit that coincided with Christmas preparations, Aunor recalled her early years living in a modest apartment in Natib, Quezon City, shortly after she left Nichols Air Base with her family.

It was in Natib where Aunor began her journey in the entertainment world. She fondly remembered her neighbor, actor Christopher de Leon, who would later become her husband, and how she first noticed him playing basketball.

Her homes have ranged from small apartments to massive properties, including a large one in La Vista. This house, spanning over 3,000 square meters, became one of her first big homes, and another in Greenhills was just as grand. Despite the size of these houses, she admits that her current home in Quezon City feels more intimate. It is where she has dedicated a room for her numerous awards, which now include over 66 acting accolades, according to IMDb.

Aunor's house is not just filled with awards but also with personal items of sentimental value. Among the treasures displayed are framed album covers and photographs from her early years in showbiz. One of the most cherished items is her "Tawag ng Tanghalan" trophy from 1968, which marked the beginning of her career. Her trophies also include international awards such as the Best Actress honor from the Cairo Film Festival for The Flor Contemplacion Story (1995) and recognition from the Asia-Pacific Screen Awards for her role in Thy Womb (2012).

Aunor has always been open about her personal losses. She recalled losing several antique statues, including a warrior Santo Niño, which was borrowed by a friend but never returned. However, she takes a philosophical approach to life’s losses, believing that sometimes, "If something is lost, it's God's will, and perhaps there is something better to replace it."

As part of her celebrations of life, Aunor enjoys marking the Christmas season with her assistants and family, even reminiscing about past holiday gatherings. Her earlier years in show business were filled with vibrant Christmas parties, with guests from all walks of life, including fans, reporters, and relatives.

In 2025, to mark her 50th anniversary in the industry, Aunor’s fans will hold a large convention to celebrate her legacy. "Fans from here and abroad are attending," she mentioned, acknowledging how deeply she values their support over the years.
