Former television host and actress Kris Aquino revealed that she now has a total of nine autoimmune diseases.
In an Instagram update, Aquino revealed that she is battling Autoimmune Thyroiditis, Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, EGPA (Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis), Systemic Sclerosis/Scleroderma, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Polymyositis, and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.

She shared that due to various food, medicinal, and environmental allergies, she has mostly stayed within her "safe zone bubble" in Bonifacio Global City. Additionally, she is strictly prohibited from exposure to sunlight.
Despite her health struggles, Aquino remains optimistic and determined.
"Please don’t give up. The odds are against my survival, but I believe in the power of prayer. Jesus healed so many. Autoimmune diseases have no cure, but I trust that the Holy Spirit will guide my doctors. I don’t break promises - I said I’d return for you to watch me, and I’m hoping to be strong enough before Mother’s Day," she said.
"Bimb’s got me, but I know it’s not fair to expect him to always be by my side. I look forward to meeting his first girlfriend; there’s someone I really like for him - but I know when you push too much, it becomes meddling. I pray he finds someone who’s smart, articulate, kindhearted, beautiful, loving, with a mom I’ll get along with, and most importantly, someone who will love my son as much as she loves herself," she added.
The 54-year-old also reflected on her past relationship with Dr. Michael Padlan, calling it her "last chance to love," but acknowledging that her feelings were not equally reciprocated.

"Why did I say that? Because I saw myself through another’s eyes, and that woman wasn’t me. I’ve always been confident, but with illnesses offering few chances for remission, I started losing my self-assurance. I became dependent on a man who already had too much to manage. I’d like to believe we truly loved each other, but I’m realistic enough to accept that, given how my health is deteriorating, the relationship with Doc Mike was likely my last chance to love," Aquino shared.
She further explained that her expectations for their future were high.
"As my autoimmune diseases worsened, the more he distanced himself. After a very stressful time when we came home, I forgave him and fought hard for our relationship, but he couldn’t forget and gave up on us. No one should be blamed. I’m not ashamed to admit, I was the one who loved and needed more," she said.
"Please note - I am speaking only for myself. I cannot speak for Doc Mike, but I do accept and understand that I loved him more than he was capable of loving me," she added.
Aquino recently posted videos documenting her struggles with a lupus flare-up, showing visible bruises, red spots on her face, and a fever of 38.5°C. She expressed her desire for the public to witness her ongoing battle, underscoring the strength it takes to endure such an illness.
"This is my now... I wanted you to see the pain and struggle so you can continue to pray. I’m having a lupus flare with a fever. It’s been more than two weeks," she wrote.
In February, Aquino made her first public appearance in months at the People Asia People of the Year 2025 awards night, where she supported designer Michael Leyva.
