Janine Gutierrez is deeply mourning the recent loss of two significant women in her life, both grandmothers who also held immense importance in the Filipino entertainment industry.

First, Janine’s grandmother, Pilita Corrales, affectionately known as "Asia's Queen of Songs," passed away at the age of 87 on April 12, 2025. Pilita was the mother of Ramon Christopher "Monching" Gutierrez, Janine’s father.

Just four days later, on April 16, 2025, another devastating loss followed when Janine's other grandmother, Nora Aunor, a National Artist and celebrated Superstar, passed away at 71. Nora, who was Lotlot de Leon’s adoptive mother, held a special place in the Gutierrez family’s heart.

In her Instagram post on April 17, Janine officially announced the passing of Nora, whom she affectionately referred to as "Mama Guy." Janine expressed her profound sorrow, saying, "With sorrowful hearts, we share the passing of our grandmother, Mama Guy. A treasure to our family but truly always more the people's than ours. She had a life of giving her immeasurable love to everyone she touched whether on screen, through music, or in person."

Janine was also deeply grateful for the outpouring of condolences and support, saying, "We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support. Please keep our family in your prayers, especially Mama, Uncle Ian, Ate Matet, Kuya Kiko, and Ken, as we say goodbye. We find comfort in knowing she, the one and only Superstar, will be forever loved."

Janine also shared a heartfelt message when Pilita passed away, calling her "Mami" or "Mamita." "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mami and mamita, Pilita Corrales." She went on to reflect on Pilita’s impact, saying, "Pilita touched the lives of many, not only with her songs but also with her kindness and generosity. She will be remembered for her contributions to the entertainment industry, but most of all for her love of life and family."

Both grandmothers are being laid to rest at Heritage Memorial Chapels in Taguig City.
