Ruru Madrid, the lead actor of Lolong, has made an impressive recovery after suffering a hamstring injury, surprising even his doctor with the speed at which he’s healing. Just days after being hospitalized, Ruru was back on set, resuming his work for the show.
Despite the program’s willingness to adjust and allow him more time to rest, Ruru’s determination to recover quickly and return to filming was evident. His work on set has nearly returned to normal, as he can now walk comfortably without the need for a wheelchair or crutches. This rapid progress was met with excitement by his doctor.

“Nagulat din po siya actually na sobrang bilis po ng healing. But siyempre, sabi niya huwag ka pa rin mag-i-stunts na magiging delikado at posibleng bumalik ‘yung injuries,” Ruru shared in an interview.
He added that his doctor advised him to rest for another week and then undergo an MRI to confirm whether he is fully healed. “Sabi niya at least, ipahinga mo itong linggo na ‘to tapos, try natin mag-MRI ulit. Kung healed na siya, mabibigyan na ako ng clearance,” Ruru explained.
