Kris Aquino Shares Hopes for Bimby’s Future

Kris Aquino recently revealed her hopes for her son Bimby, opening up about her dreams for his future during a candid interview with Ogie Diaz on Bimby's 18th birthday.

The "Queen of All Media" shared that one of her biggest dreams for Bimby is for him to study abroad, something she herself was unable to do. "This is my dream that did not happen. I hope he gets to fulfill it," Kris expressed. "I always wonder, what would have been the trajectory of my life had I studied abroad? I want him to experience that," she added.

Proud of her son’s financial wisdom, Kris also mentioned how Bimby’s thriftiness is a trait that will serve him well in the future. “I said, ‘Thank you, God! We have one who is careful with money.’ He is really good with his finances. If you give him P50,000, it will last him two months," she said. She added that she wants Bimby to be an inspiration for other children, especially as she feels that the traditional caregiving roles have reversed in their family.

The conversation naturally turned to Bimby’s potential career. Kris expressed her belief that her son could one day serve as mayor, citing his ability to connect with people and his honesty. "He’s really good with dealing with people. He’s so honest, so he won’t steal. He’s also great at budgeting, so he will take care of the people," she said.

When asked about his thoughts on entering politics, Bimby expressed that he sees it as his "destiny" and "calling." He shared, "It’s always an option because my grandmother, my mom, said, ‘Everyone in the family who entered politics, it is a calling.’ It’s not an easy job, but it’s a job that can help so many people," he explained in a separate interview with Erin Diaz on her YouTube channel.

Bimby also revealed his plan to study Legal Management, aiming to eventually become a lawyer. "I’m going to be a lawyer. Imagine, Atty. Bimb. It’s diverse. Let’s be honest, it’s business, politics, and showbiz," he shared.

In a heartfelt post on March 16, Kris referred to Bimby as her "source of strength" and expressed how blessed she felt to have a son who goes above and beyond to ease her physical and emotional suffering. Along with the post, she shared a photo of Bimby helping her to the bathroom.

In January 2024, Kris shared that Bimby needed to work to help with her medical bills as she battles nine autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, EPGA, systemic sclerosis/scleroderma, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease. “Five of my autoimmune diseases can cause my death. That has been hard to process. But I am slowly learning to leave everything to God’s will because He knows best,” she wrote on April 7.

Bimby, born on April 19, 2007, is the son of Kris Aquino and her ex-husband, basketball player James Yap.
