Rabiya Mateo recently shared that she sustained some minor injuries to her face after a wakeboarding accident during a recent trip. The actress and beauty queen took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, April 23, to show her fans the aftermath of the accident. In the video, she revealed purplish bruises around her undereye and cheek area, and one of her front teeth appeared chipped.
“Part of being adventurous is experiencing accidents,” she wrote, providing a glimpse of her face after the mishap. “Got hit by a wakeboard. Chipped my tooth. Got some bruising and swelling on my left face,” she explained, though she refrained from providing specific details about the incident or the location of her trip.
Despite the injuries, Mateo remained positive, saying, “Still, life is good. Thank you, Lord!” This upbeat attitude was a testament to her resilient nature, showing that she wasn’t letting the accident hold her back.

In a follow-up video, Mateo shared her visit to a dental clinic, where she was getting her chipped tooth fixed, signaling that she was taking the necessary steps to recover from the injury.

“Looking back, I would say that style was never my priority,” Mateo shared during the event. “Because I had nothing in life, hindi ko priority na bumili ng magagandang damit kasi ang priority ko was to survive life,” she explained. This reflection was a reminder for herself to always stay humble and appreciative of how far she had come. “This serves to remind myself to always be grateful and thankful for everything that is happening,” she added, emphasizing how important it is to appreciate life’s blessings, no matter how small they may seem.
