Carol Banawa has proudly completed her master’s degree in nursing in the United States, highlighting the idea that “dreams take time, sacrifice, and faith.”

The Filipino singer, now based in the US, shared this significant academic achievement from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine through her Instagram on Monday, May 19.

“[On May 10, 2025], I received my Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree. It’s hard to put into words what this moment means to me,” she wrote.

Banawa recounted how her journey in nursing began in 2005 when she worked as a certified nurse aide in Arizona. She then obtained her licensed practical nurse certificate in 2010, earned an associate degree in nursing in 2018, and completed her bachelor’s degree in 2020.

“When I began my master’s degree, the world was shutting down. The pandemic had just started, and I was pregnant with Bella,” she said, referring to her youngest child.

“Balancing pregnancy, motherhood, and a demanding academic program during such uncertain times was incredibly challenging. There were sleepless nights, long hours of studying, missed social events, and countless moments when I had to say, ‘not now, I have to study,’” she recalled. “There were also times of doubt, fatigue, and wondering if I could really keep going. But the dream was stronger - and I just kept pushing forward.”

“To my husband, Ryan, thank you for working tirelessly behind the scenes so I could dedicate myself to my studies. Your love, support, and sacrifices made this possible,” she expressed.

“To my children Chelsea, River, and Bella, thank you for your patience and understanding whenever mommy had to study instead of play… Your hugs and kisses were everything,” she added.

Banawa also expressed gratitude toward her mother for the unwavering encouragement and prayers, as well as for assisting in caring for her children during her demanding schedule.

“It truly takes a village, and I am immensely grateful for everyone who stepped in when I needed you most,” she said. “And most importantly, to God Almighty - Thank You for this journey… You gave me strength when I had none, courage when I was scared, and peace when I doubted.”

Addressing her followers, she encouraged, “To anyone on a long and difficult path - keep going. Take it one step at a time. Dreams require time, sacrifice, and faith. But they are worth every moment.”

Carol Banawa, who left the entertainment industry and relocated to the US in the early 2000s, is widely recognized for her hit songs such as “Muntik Na Kitang Minahal,” “Bakit ‘Di Totohanin,” and “Iingatan Ka.”
