Many say that instead of spoiling Ahtisa's success, the stumbling in the evening gown competition of the national pageant was a defining moment for her to be crowned queen this year.
According to Ahtisa, she still can't believe that she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025.
‘I’m very happy, but I’m also overwhelmed. It doesn’t seem to have sunk in too much for me. Finally, I’m so happy. Thank you for all the support and love. I really felt it all throughout,” the young woman said in an interview with “24 Oras Weekend”.
Ahtisa also recalled her scene-stealing “stumbling” moment while performing in the evening gown competition of the pageant.
“I don’t know, eh. I think I’m still on adrenaline. I don’t know what, how are my feet. But just fight,” the young woman said.
But she said that her stumbling was a big help in making her more competitive in the contest, especially when it came to the Question & Answer portion.
The question she was asked was, “They say that a good leader leads by example. Tell us one event in your life when you led by example and the impact it made.”
“I fell a while ago on stage. And the thing with me is whenever I fall in life, I always make sure I come back stronger.
“Last year I was here on the stage, and for the second time this year, I’m here, putting everything on the stage to be Miss Universe Philippines,” Ahtisa replied.
Ahtisa will be the representative of the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2025 to be held this coming November in Thailand. This is her second contest for Miss Universe Philippines.
Last year, Ahtisa won as Miss Cosmo Philippines and reached the top 10 of the said international pageant. In 2018, she participated in Binibining Pilipinas and became the country’s bet in Miss International and was named first runner-up.
Meanwhile, Winwyn Marquez was the first runner-up in Miss Universe Philippines 2025, while Yllana Marie Aduana was the second runner-up, and Chelsea Fernandez won Miss Cosmo Philippines 2025.
