Sofia Andres draws flak amid post about personal assistant: "Who can read my mind"

Amid the growing online reaction to her post, Sofia decided to address the situation. In the post, she expressed her frustration with the negative responses.

Sofia Andres, the Filipino actress, recently stirred up some attention and controversy after posting about hiring a personal assistant (PA) on her social media. However, her specific list of qualifications for the role has caused a stir among netizens.

Sofia's request for a new PA wasn’t just any typical job listing. The actress shared the qualities she was seeking in her ideal assistant on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. According to Sofia, the PA must be able to read her mind, organize her chaos, and remind her where she left her coffee and her schedule.

But that’s not all. She added that the assistant should also be “ten steps ahead,” “stylishly sharp,” and “allergic to ‘I forgot.’” If anyone thought they fit the description, Sofia invited them to send their resume to her email.

Her full Instagram post read: “Now hiring a Personal Assistant who can read my mind, organize my chaos, and remind me where I left my coffee (and my schedule). Must be 10 steps ahead, stylishly sharp, and allergic to ‘I forgot.’ Think that’s you? Slide into the inbox - applications open, excuses closed. Email me.”

Reactions from Netizens to Sofia Andres’s Post

As expected, the post didn’t go unnoticed. It quickly made its way to Reddit, where netizens started commenting and reacting to Sofia’s seemingly demanding job description. One user humorously pointed out, “Her 1st qualification for a PA, who can read my mind, looks like Rudy Baldwin is on the way.”

Rudy Baldwin is a controversial figure in the Philippines, known for her claims as a psychic, and netizens joked about Sofia potentially hiring someone with supernatural abilities. Others chimed in, suggesting other “psychics” or fortune tellers, such as Master Hanz Cua and Jay Costura, as potential candidates for the job.

However, not everyone was impressed by Sofia’s post. Some users criticized her, with one commenting, “I think that’s why she remains as a ‘starlet’ because of her qualifications like that hahahah.” This comment was followed by another, which countered, “It seems like she’s not even qualified for starlet because we rarely see her on screen. What do you call trying hard to get high? Because she seems to be in that category. Hahahah!”

Sofia Andres Responds to the Backlash: “No sense of humor, just chill!”

Amid the growing online reaction to her post, Sofia decided to address the situation. After her original post went viral, she shared a follow-up message on her Instagram Story. In the post, Sofia expressed her frustration with the negative responses, saying, “It’s annoying! No sense of humor... just chill!”

Sofia’s comment was directed at those who misunderstood the lighthearted nature of her job listing, as many fans and netizens quickly questioned whether her post was meant to be taken seriously. Despite the criticisms, she continued to maintain that her message was a joke, urging people to relax.

Shortly after, some netizens started to understand the humor in Sofia’s original post. One commenter on her Instagram clarified, “You guys, it’s a joke,” further de-escalating the tension.

Sofia then posted another update, showing a screenshot of her inbox filled with resumes from individuals who had taken her seriously and submitted their applications. She shared the screenshot with the caption: “Okay na to,” followed by laughing emojis, suggesting that she was amused by the response she was getting from her followers.

Fans’ Reactions and Resumes Pouring In

Although some netizens initially found Sofia’s qualifications for the PA role comical or demanding, it didn’t stop others from responding. Fans began flooding her inbox with their resumes in hopes of landing the job. Sofia's lighthearted and somewhat tongue-in-cheek approach to hiring a personal assistant seemed to resonate with some of her followers, who either found humor in the post or were eager to take a chance at working with the actress.

Sofia Andres: Keeping a Sense of Humor

The entire incident has sparked ongoing conversations about humor, expectations, and the online culture surrounding public figures. While some critics took Sofia’s post too seriously, others understood it as a playful, tongue-in-cheek request. Regardless of the online reactions, Sofia showed that she’s not afraid to keep a sense of humor and remain unbothered by the backlash.

In the end, the job listing posted by Sofia was just another example of how celebrity culture and social media collide - mixing genuine engagement with humor, misinterpretations, and sometimes, unsolicited advice. Sofia’s ability to laugh at herself while maintaining her playful demeanor only added to the lighthearted nature of the entire event.
