Bettinna Carlos, former actress and TV host, revealed that she recently went through a terrifying health scare that led her to believe she was facing her last Mother’s Day. What started as a simple headache escalated into a medical emergency, taking her to the hospital for tests.
In an emotional Instagram post, Bettinna shared a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed, with an IV attached to her arm. She described the terrifying experience, writing, “I thought this was going to be my last Mother’s Day. I didn’t know so much stress could actually lead to this kind of headache called a tension headache. My head has never hurt like this my whole life! After 2 ER visits in 12hrs and a very scary MRI for this claustrophobic, I still feel like dying every time I sit up. Scans were negative of anything more serious than muscle spasms.”

Despite the alarming situation, Bettinna reassured her followers that she was recovering, thanks to the use of relaxants and heating pads. She expressed gratitude to those who stepped in to care for her children while she was in the hospital.
“Through all this physical pain, we are so thankful for friends who gladly took our girls in even if it meant pushing their Mother’s Day plans. Thankful for the love of our spiritual family sending food treats, entertainment prayers, and all,” she said.
Reflecting on the experience, Bettinna admitted that the intense stress she had been under might have contributed to her health issue. She shared how this situation led her to rethink her approach to stress management, saying, “Now as I lay flat in bed with a heating pad on my back, neck and head, I’m prayerfully rethinking my response to stress. How can it not get to me so much that it brings me to this point? How should I change the way I view something as ‘stress’ that I may respond to it better? How do I relax??? Such a painful way to learn but God knows how I’d best learn.”
Bettinna also praised her firstborn daughter for stepping up to care for her younger sister, Gummy, during the absence of their helper, who was off for Mother’s Day and the elections. “It was also such a blessing seeing our firstborn rise up and really take care of her sissy. It’s also timely that all this happened while Amina’s yaya was on a day off for Mother’s Day and elections. It was just us and God in and through our community. Thank you Lord You are [still] so good, always good,” she concluded.
