Anne Curtis, concerned about the alleged baldness of Sierra Madre: "I truly hope this isn't real!"

Over the years, Anne Curtis has maintained the respect and support of the public because of her meaningful statements on social media and actions on issues.

Kapamilya actress and TV host Anne Curtis-Heussaff expressed concern after seeing a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) about the alleged deforestation or baldness of the Sierra Madre forest, particularly in Dinapigue, Isabela. This is an issue that has shocked and worried many netizens, especially since most know the major role of the Sierra Madre in absorbing typhoons and reducing their damage in Luzon.

“Good morning! Is this real can anyone confirm this? This quite concerning. I remember people saying #SierraMadre played a huge role in breaking typhoons strength before it hit the cities. I truly hope this isn't real!!!!” — this is Anne's comment on the said post showing an aerial image of the alleged clearing of the forest.

The post also contained strong questions from netizens:

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN #SIERRAMADRE?!” and “The Mayor of Dinapigue, Isabela really allowed them to do a 25 year contract Mining Operation? For what?”

According to the report, an aerial image of the clearing in the forest of Dinapigue, a remote town in Isabela, was found on Google Maps. Several officials confirmed that it was related to the operation of the Dinapigue Mining Corporation, which has a 25-year contract and permit from the national government. Representatives of the MGB (Mines and Geosciences Bureau) explained that the operation is legal, documented, and approved.

However, some environmental advocates insist that the legality of the operation is not enough reason to set aside the environmental impact, especially in the forest that has long been considered the country's "natural shield" during typhoons.

So far, the DENR has not issued an official statement on the issue. But on social media, netizens and celebrities like Anne Curtis continue to call for deeper analysis and action.

Anne Curtis is one of the most popular and longest-serving actresses in showbiz. Aside from acting and hosting, she is also active in various advocacy, including environmental, education, and women's issues. Over the years, she has maintained the respect and support of the public because of her meaningful statements on social media and actions on issues.

In a candid segment, Anne Curtis shared some of the senatorial candidates she wants to support. According to her, it is important to choose candidates who truly care about the country and have integrity. The post drew praise from netizens who agree with her voting principles.

Anne once again showed her sense of humor after receiving a comment from a netizen who seemed surprised that she could cook. Instead of being sarcastic, Anne playfully responded to it in a funny way. Fans praised him for being grounded and witty despite being a famous artist.
