Compared to freshwater fish, saltwater fish usually have a better taste and are slightly more expensive. If you want to eat more nutritious and tastier saltwater fish, then wild saltwater fish is one of the best options.
Sea fish raised in their natural habitat often have better texture and flavor compared to those farmed artificially. When buying fish, don't hesitate to splurge on these five types—they are all wild-caught sea fish that cannot be farmed.
  1. Devilfish

With a somewhat "ugly" appearance, a large mouth, and a somewhat intimidating look, this fish is a true deep-sea creature. Dried devilfish is often compared to foie gras from the sea—its tender, smooth meat is rich in nutrients and highly favored by Michelin-star chefs.
Despite its less-than-appealing appearance, the devilfish has no scales, no small bones, and is packed with essential nutrients, making it suitable for both the elderly and children. It is easy to prepare, and simply steaming it brings out its delicious flavor.

While everyone has heard of yellowtail, not many know there are large and small varieties. Larger yellowtails are usually farmed, whereas the smaller ones are predominantly wild-caught.
