Angelika dela Cruz received an anonymous threat letter with 3 sh0cking objects

Actress and Barangay Longos, Malabon barangay captain Angelika dela Cruz has received a d:eath threat.

On Friday, May 9, 2025, Angelika shared a letter she received containing a th:reat to her life and that of her family.

Angelika is being urged to withdraw from her bid for vice mayorship in Malabon City.

If not, she and her family will suffer.

Three b:ullets were also attached.

The full text reads:

"Angelika Dela Cruz

"HAPPY DAY TO YOU!!!

"YOU'RE BACKING AGAINST THE VICE MAYOR OF MALABON!!!

"IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR FUTURE AND THAT OF YOUR FAMILY!!!"

The caption reads: "slandered, sued, now they're th:reatening what's next?!! "You are also very sorry for my family"

This is not the first th:reat to Angelika's life.

On Facebook on June 7, 2022, Angelika shared a photo of four b:ullets on her Facebook account.

Also included was a letter that seemed to th:reaten her life and that of her other relatives.

Meanwhile, Angelika is now facing multiple charges at the Office of the Ombudsman.

Angelika is facing charges of pl:under of at least PHP70 million from the coffers of Barangay Longos.

Apart from this, there are 62 counts of malversation of public funds or v:iolation of Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code; 18 counts of failure to render accounts or v:iolation of Article 218 of the Revised Penal Code; illegal use of public funds or v:iolation of Article 220 of the Revised Penal Code; and 64 counts of anti-graft and corrupt practices act or v:iolation of R.A.3019 due to unexplained expenditures, missing equipment, and barangay funds.

Several administrative complaints were also filed against Angelika.

These were allegedly related to her neglect of duty as Barangay Longos captain, frequent absences without official leave, and unauthorized transfer of her duties to her brother-barangay councilor Erick dela Cruz.

Aside from Angelika, her barangay treasurer and brother Erick were also implicated in the case.

Angelika's barangay treasurer was charged with failure to render accounts or v:iolation of Article 218 of the Revised Penal Code and illegal use of public.

While her brother councilor Erick was charged with grave misconduct.

Angelika shrugged it off in her Facebook post on April 28.

According to Angelika, although she knows that c:orruption and lawsuits are part of the political system, she still fears for her life and safety.

Her post (published as is) reads: "Politics is really bad, if they don't get what they want from c:orruption, the next step is to sue you.

Angelika Dela Cruz (born October 29, 1981, in Quezon City, Philippines) is a Filipino actress and politician. She began her acting career in 1995 and has since appeared in television shows and movies. She is best known for her portrayal of the antagonist in the 2006 series Bituing Walang Ningning. She is also known for having starred on the hit primetime show Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin. In 2014, she was nominated for a Golden Screen TV Award for her work on the series Mundo Mo'y Akin. She has garnered over 800,000 followers on her Instagram page.

Angelika married Orion Casareo in 2008, and the couple had a son in March of the following year. She has a younger half-sister, Mika Dela Cruz, who is also an actress. She has also served as the barangay captain of Longos, Malabon, Metro Manila since 2013. In October 2024, she filed her candidacy to run for vice mayor of Malabon in 2025 under the Nationalist People's Coalition as the running mate of Malabon Representative Josephine Lacson-Noel, who is running for mayor. In April 2025, Dela Cruz was charged before the Office of the Ombudsman with pl:under involving at least ₱70 million in public funds of the barangay, as well as administrative offenses for neglecting her duties as barangay captain, frequent absences without official leave, and the unauthorized transfer of her official duties to her brother Erick. She denied the charges, citing slander from dirty politics.
