Woman shares four symptoms doctors 'ignored' before her stage 4 canc3r diagnosis

TikToker Hannah says she was 'medically gaslit' for months before her cancer diagnosis
A young woman has bravely shared the shocking account of how her cancer was "overlooked" by doctors for eight months, despite experiencing severe symptoms.
TikTok user Hannah, who aims to raise awareness with her story, highlighted the importance of seeking a second opinion when medical professionals fail to listen.
Hannah tried repeatedly to get help after experiencing a range of troubling symptoms. She described her experience of being ignored for nearly a year by her GP, sarcastically noting that they were "not exactly close."
In 2021, she was finally diagnosed with stage four cancer, after doctors discovered a 12cm tumor pressing on her spine. She explained how her attempts to receive a proper diagnosis were repeatedly dismissed.
Hannah, who runs a travel account with her husband Charlie, has used her platform to speak out about her treatment by healthcare providers, aiming to raise awareness of the symptoms she experienced before receiving her diagnosis.
Unfortunately, Hannah revealed that it took almost a year of trying to get help before she received the devastating news. She admitted that the delay in diagnosis should "never have gone that far."
She shared, “I was medically gas-lit for over eight months, which led to a late stage four cancer diagnosis. So, no, my GP and I aren’t exactly on great terms.”
Hannah went on to describe the four symptoms she initially experienced: “In July 2021, I had a persistent cough, a full-body rash, extreme fatigue, and I lost a lot of weight, which I actually thought was a win at the time.”
She said her doctor prescribed antibiotics and told her to return if there was no improvement—however, the antibiotics didn’t help. Hannah added that she was refused an in-person appointment, suspecting the doctor had labeled her as a hypochondriac.
As her symptoms worsened, she recalled calling the doctor’s office repeatedly. Instead of addressing her concerns, she was advised to visit a local pharmacy for over-the-counter pain relief.
As time went on, she developed pneumonia during the winter as the tumor began pressing on her chest.
Hannah admitted that because she had been ignored so often, she tried to carry on with her life and ignore the pain until it became too intense to endure. She ended up in the emergency room, fearing she was having a heart attack.
Despite her desperate state, she recalled how a receptionist incorrectly recorded her condition as “period pains.”
"Isn’t that just a classic case of misogyny?" she remarked.
Fortunately, a compassionate nurse noticed her in the waiting room clutching her chest. She was quickly assessed, and a CT scan revealed the horrific truth: stage four cancer.
Since then, Hannah has praised the incredible care she received after her diagnosis, describing it as "absolutely amazing."
She has undergone eight months of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and participated in a clinical trial.
In a caption accompanying her video, Hannah wrote, "I was medically gaslit for eight months… and it nearly cost me my life. I was dismissed with antibiotics, told I was being dramatic, and refused scans while a 12cm tumor was crushing my lungs and heart."
"By the time anyone took me seriously, it was already stage four cancer. Eight months of chemo later, I'm still here. But it should have never gone that far."
She ended her message with a reminder: "This is your sign to fight for answers. If they won’t give you a test, ask them to note it in your records. It might just save your life."
