Basketball player Bobby Ray Parks Jr. expressed regret after his earlier social media post, which went viral, accused airline lounge personnel regarding the near-theft of his fiancée Zeinab Harake’s cellphone.

In a post that has since been deleted, Parks shared that Harake’s phone was nearly stolen at the airport lounge and hoped for a thorough investigation.



“Can’t believe my wife’s cellphone almost got stolen at the Mabuhay Lounge at Terminal 1. [We] mentioned CCTV and suddenly the phone popped up. I hope they continue to investigate and that I hear an update about the culprit. Let’s do better,” he wrote on Facebook.

Following their mention of CCTV footage, Zeinab’s phone mysteriously reappeared, a development that only added suspicion and concern about what truly transpired. Zeinab herself reacted succinctly on Ray’s post, writing: “Crazy 😬.”

Social media users commented on the post, expressing concerns and calls for accountability:

  • “Only VIPs and card holders can access that place ba? Oh no....Cctv and follow up on this please.”

  • “Wag kayo pumayag na hindi ipakita ang CCTV. Grabe ah, wala na pinipili. Kakahiya na talaga.”

  • “Kahit inilabas na ang cellphone need pa rin malaman kung sino kumuha staff ba or ung mga tao lang na nasa terminal 1.”

Hours afterward, Parks returned to social media to issue an apology, acknowledging that the situation should have been addressed privately.

“I didn’t expect this to be blown out of proportion,” he said. “First off, I’ll take responsibility and apologize to everyone involved because posting things online got everyone involved. This should have been handled internally.”

The Filipino-American athlete also praised the airport staff for their efforts and urged everyone to move forward with understanding.

“I’m glad that the investigation continued and due diligence was done so great a job on the part of PAL and the Mabuhay lounge staff on that. As we move forward, may reconciliation happen and may we all continue to do better and be better. Peace and Love, God bless,” he concluded.
