"YOU'RE NOT PRETTY ENOUGH FOR THIS JOB" - HOW I GOT SWEET REV3NGE FOR MY WIFE

When a cr:u:el rejection left my wife questioning her beauty, I helped her realize that self-worth comes from within—not from others' opinions. A lesson in confidence and revenge.
My wife, Elisabelle, has always had a unique sense of style. She effortlessly blends outfits that leave everyone around her in awe. Her self-confidence is inspiring, and it’s one of the things I love most about her. But there was one moment that changed everything—one instance that tested both her self-worth and mine.

It started when Elisabelle visited a lingerie store she had always admired. She loved everything about it: the elegant products, the luxurious window displays, and the sense of exclusivity it offered. When she saw a sign that the store was hiring, she immediately thought it could be the perfect opportunity. She had been job hunting for a while, and this felt like a sign.

Excited, she walked into the store, hoping to apply. The store assistant didn’t greet her with the warmth she expected. Instead, the woman looked her up and down with a cold sneer.

Without so much as a smile, the sales assistant delivered her verdict. “Look, I don’t think you’re pretty enough for this job. NO CHANCE. Don’t even try.”

Elisabelle was stunned. She left the store, devastated, and when she returned home, she was in tears. The rejection cut deeper than any of us could have imagined. I could see how it shattered her self-confidence, and I was furious—furious that someone could be so heartless, so cr:u;el.

I knew I had to do something. This woman needed to learn a lesson in kindness, and I was determined to teach it to her.

I called my friend Moras, a talent scout who worked in the modeling industry. He was tall, handsome, and well-known for spotting fresh talent. I told him what had happened, and without hesitation, he agreed to help me give the sales assistant a taste of her own medicine.

The next day, we headed to the store. We made sure the same sales assistant was working. When we walked in, Moras introduced himself with confidence, and I acted like a regular shopper. He casually mentioned that he was looking for a new face for an upcoming campaign. The sales assistant immediately brightened up, eager to make a good impression. She groomed herself, posed, and tried to sell herself to him. It was almost pathetic to watch.

But just as Elisabelle entered the store, Moras turned to the sales assistant with a calm smile. "Sorry," he said, "You’re not what we’re looking for."

He then turned to Elisabelle, as if seeing her for the first time, and with a sincere smile, said, “Miss, have you ever considered modeling? You’d be perfect for our upcoming campaign.”

Elisabelle’s face lit up. She had always been self-conscious about her looks after that humiliating encounter, but in that moment, I saw her stand a little taller. The sales assistant, on the other hand, stood frozen, her face turning red as she realized what had just happened.

We left the store, and though Elisabelle did feel some sympathy for the woman, I knew she had learned something important. The sales assistant had gotten a taste of her own cr:u;elty, and I felt some satisfaction in knowing that she had been put in her place. But more importantly, Elisabelle had learned the valuable lesson I had been trying to teach her all along: self-worth doesn’t come from the opinions of others.

When Elisabelle came home that night, I pulled her into my arms. “You’re beautiful,” I said. “Not because of what others think of you, but because you carry yourself with confidence. You’ve always had that strength inside you.”

She smiled softly, and for the first time since the incident, I saw her confidence start to return.

And as for the sales assistant—well, she learned a lesson she won’t forget. But I hope it was one that could change her, just as it had changed Elisabelle, and just as it had changed me. Self-worth isn’t determined by anyone else’s standards; it’s something we create for ourselves.
