Flanked by the entertainment media wanting to get enough of her, Ruffa gave significant updates how peacefully well her relationship with her ex-hubby has been.
For some, second chances in love can be sweeter. However, for former beauty queen and actress Ruffa Gutierrez, when her ex-husband, Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas, "proposed" to her once more, she turned him down.
In an interview during her contract signing as Luxe Skin's newest ambassador, Ruffa shared her reaction to the surprise proposal, recalling that she initially thought it was a joke.
“I said, ‘Is this a joke?’ He replied, ‘No, I want to invite you to be [on] a train with me and travel all over Europe.’ So, I joked, ‘Is this true, or maybe he’s planning to murder me on the plane or train?’”

Despite the offer, Ruffa declined. Yilmaz later told her that he would come to visit her in the Philippines.
“I told him, ‘Okay, you’re welcome to visit in the Philippines. But make sure your children are with you,’” Ruffa said.
Ruffa and Yilmaz married in 2003 but separated in 2007. They have two daughters, Lorin and Venice, who recently reconnected with their father during a visit to Turkey.
The actress expressed happiness over her daughters finally building a personal relationship with their dad.
“I’m so happy that they’re more comfortable now. It’s like the pain I saw in their hearts for so many years has disappeared,” she shared.
She also noted that her relationship with Yilmaz has improved over time.
“Yilmaz and I are fine, too. We joke around sometimes. He also sends financial support now, so we’re all happy. Yes, communication is regular,” added Ruffa.
Ruffa continues to co-parent with Yilmaz while focusing on her career and family.
