Obakeng’s actions were swift and precise—he helped her into his car, driving her to the emergency room, where a team of doctors immediately administered adrenaline shots to save her life. Nicole remained unconscious from the moment she collapsed until she awoke later in ICU. She was alive. The gratitude she felt was indescribable. It was Obakeng’s selfless actions that saved her life, and Nicole’s faith in humanity, and in the youth of South Africa, was restored.

Months later, Nicole had the privilege of meeting Obakeng. She reflected on how, through his heroic actions, he had not only given her life back but also changed the way she viewed the world. What could have been a tragic event turned into a powerful reminder of the goodness in people when they rise to the occasion.
