“I want him to come to my house and take him to jail,” TyLon insisted, believing the Grinch could be a real threat. His mother, TeResa Pittman, assumed he was joking when he claimed to have dialed 911. But soon, the Pittman family would discover just how serious TyLon was about protecting the holiday.
The night of TyLon's 911 call, the unexpected happened. Officer Lauren Develle from the Byram Police Department arrived at the Pittman household, searching for the young boy who had made the call. "I’m looking for a little boy who was watching 'The Grinch,'" she explained. TyLon proudly showed her the video clip that sparked his call for help, detailing how the Grinch was planning to ste@l all the presents and decorations.
TyLon’s determination wasn’t lost on Officer Develle. “The Grinch is not going to come and ste@l your Christmas. I’m not going to let that happen,” she reassured him. While TyLon felt a little better after the conversation, he still worried that the Grinch might find a way to ruin everyone's holiday.

"He would not let him out at all," TyLon’s brother, TeDera Dwayne Graves, recalled with amusement. After securing the Grinch for good, TyLon received a goodie bag, a police car toy, and even his own pair of handcuffs.
The highlight of the visit came when Police Chief Thompson gave TyLon a special offer: “I’m going to give you these little handcuffs, and a little police car now, but when you turn 21 come back here. We’ll give you an application.”
